 Welcome !
The Presbytery of Cayuga-Syracuse is a faith community of over 6,500 Christians in forty-four congregations in Central New York State. We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), a historic Protestant denomination, and have been a vital part of this region for more than 200 years. Our congregations are engaged in a wide variety of Christian mission and ministry in the communities in which they are located.

The Presbytery of Cayuga-Syracuse is:

  • An association of Presbyterian congregations who share in mission and ministry projects and programs;
  • A geographic region that encompasses four counties in upstate New York (Cayuga, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego);
  • The regional governing body that supports and equips congregations, ministers, and lay leaders;
  • One of four governing bodies in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The other governing bodies are the Session (local congregation), the Synod (northeast U.S.), and the General Assembly (national church);
  • A meeting/gathering of ministers and elder representatives.The presbytery business meetings occur five times a year and there are other gatherings for worship and enrichment
If you do not currently have a church home, or would like to know more about our Christian faith and ministry, we invite you to go to List of Churches and make contact with the congregation of your choice.

We are pleased that you have stopped in for a visit!
May God bless you and may you enjoy your stay!

Web site note: This site uses the WEBMEDLEY software and server, which are specifically designed for churches and church organizations. Several of our congregations currently use WEBMEDLEY. This may be an economical way for YOUR CHURCH to go on line or to upgrade its current web facilities. To find out more about this very “user friendly” program go to www.webmedley.com and check out the WEBMEDLEY packages for churches. Also, look into the Really Simple Syndication (RSS) technology, which is an easy-to-use way of incorporating news, articles, and even videos from your Presbytery, Resource Center, Synod and National Office directly on your congregation’s web site.
